     World of Warcraft is an expansive game, with lots of different aspects to learn and master. There are many different ways to play World of Warcraft and a variety of different characters that you can create. When it comes to WOW Classic, some nuances must be understood before you begin playing. In this article, we’ll discuss the WOW Classic Season of Mastery, what it is, what it means for your game experience, and how you can get started on your own path to mastery in WOW Classic. 

    Here are some things you should know before diving into the WOW Classic Season of Mastery.

    What is Season of Mastery?

    With Season of Mastery, players begin at level 1 on a brand-new server and play through the original WoW Classic content over 12 months. Everyone starts out the same--no gold or twinking. New content phases are released on a two-month timetable, beginning with the original WoW Classic content. Some content locations have changed from the original schedule.

    • Characters below level 60 will receive the "Adventure Awaits" power-up.” buff. This buff will increase the experience gained from quest turn-ins by 40 percent. It will also provide additional bonus experience on Group and Dungeon Quests. 
    • Players may not benefit from world buffs such as Rallying Cry of the Dragonslayer, Warchief’s Blessing, and Spirit of Zandalar in raid instances. 
    • Buff and debuff limits will be lifted. 
    • Players that kill an enemy while in a party with one or more players of a much higher level than the slain enemy will get a much smaller amount of experience. 
    • The amount of experience awarded for enemies that have been “tapped” by one person or group but slain by another is adjusted. 
    • The Looking For Group tool from Burning Crusade Classic is included in Season of Mastery.
    • You can now send in-game chat reporting feedback. 
    • Players who report misbehavior in chat, as well as those who someone may report, will receive an in-game confirmation. 
    • When reporting a player for verbal abuse or other disruptive chat in-game, you will receive a confirmation when the other player is taken action against. 
    • If your behavior has moderately worsened, you may receive a warning message so that you can change your behavior before being penalized. 
    • If a player demonstrates acutely inappropriate behavior, the system may skip a warning and take immediate action. /Ignore now blocks characters from the ignored player's WoW account.

    Content:


    • Onyxia's Lair and Molten Core have been altered to include new and enhanced boss mechanics. 
    • Bosses and other creatures have been altered to have more health. In Season of Mastery, many existing boss mechanics and new mechanics have been enhanced to challenge players. 
    • The health of bosses and other creatures has increased. 
    • Mining and Herbalism nodes have been increased in all zones, including Black Lotus may be obtained by max-level herbalists looting high-level herbalism nodes. 
    • There is a slight chance for Plaguebloom to spawn in Western and Eastern Plaguelands. Herbalism nodes have been altered and expanded in Dungeons. 
    • There has been an increase in the availability of Elemental Fire, Elemental Earth, and Elemental Water in crafting. 
    • Ironforge and Undercity are being observed by high Elf Watchers seeking to chronicle adventurers bearing the "Soul of Iron".
